Refugee Women and Human Rights Program with Vonya Womack
Programs with Vonya Womack in Aarhus and Copenhagen connected refugee women’s experiences, the asylum process, prison rights, women’s and children’s rights, and allegations of torture within one human rights agenda.
Content
The Aarhus and Copenhagen programs with Vonya Womack placed the experiences of people seeking asylum in Denmark from Turkey and refugee women at the center of the human rights agenda.
A panel on women’s migration and asylum experiences, a talk on women and babies in prison, and meetings with refugee families brought different experiences together within one program series.
Across the program, prison rights, women’s and children’s rights, allegations of torture, sick prisoners, and refugee and asylum rights were addressed together.
